The short version

Kuaishou (the Chinese tech company behind Kling) announced Kling 4.0 on September 27, 2026. The headline specs: 30-second clips generated in a single pass — the same length ceiling Alibaba's Wan 3.0 claimed when it launched — at full 4K resolution with 10-bit HDR color, up to 10 keyframes and 15 reference images accepted per generation for finer control over composition and consistency, and stereo audio generated natively alongside the video rather than added afterward. A faster "Flash" variant entered early access for Ultra-tier subscribers on September 28; Kuaishou says the full model rolls out more broadly through October 2026.

What's actually new, not just marketing

Two of these specs are genuine capability jumps rather than incremental polish. 30-second single-pass generation matters because every tool we track except Wan 3.0 still caps a single generation well under that — Runway, Pika, Veo, and Seedance all require stitching multiple shorter generations together for anything longer, which tends to introduce visible seams and consistency drift between segments. Native stereo audio generated with the video is the other real one: Veo has led on audio quality among the major tools (see our pricing comparison), and Kling previously had no comparable native-audio story at all. Whether Kling 4.0's audio actually competes with Veo's in practice is something only hands-on use and the next Artificial Analysis leaderboard cycle will settle — we're reporting the announced capability, not independently verifying it yet.

Who can access it right now

As of this writing, the faster Flash variant is in early access and gated to subscribers on Kling's top Ultra tier — see our full pricing comparison for what that costs relative to Kling's other tiers and the rest of the field. Kuaishou says the full Kling 4.0 model rolls out more broadly through October 2026, which typically means wider tier access follows within weeks once a model stabilizes post-launch. If you're not on Ultra, check Kling's own app directly for current availability rather than relying on this page staying perfectly current on a fast-moving rollout — we'll update this piece as access widens.

Once you've generated a clip

Same as every other tool on this site: Kling exports a full rendered scene, background included, with no transparent-export option. If you want to lift the subject out to composite it elsewhere or turn it into a sticker or overlay, that's a background-removal step done after generation — RemoveGifBG processes the exported MP4 frame by frame. See the AI video background remover guide.

FAQ

What is Kling 4.0?

Kling 4.0 is Kuaishou's newest AI video model, announced September 27, 2026. It targets broadcast-spec output: 30-second single-pass clips, 4K resolution with 10-bit HDR, up to 10 keyframes and 15 reference images per generation, and stereo audio generated alongside the video. A faster "Flash" variant entered early access for Kling's Ultra-tier subscribers on September 28; the full model is rolling out through October 2026.

How is Kling 4.0 different from the Kling already covered in your pricing guide?

Our pricing comparison covers Kling's existing Standard/Pro/Premier/Ultra subscription tiers and their credit costs — that structure hasn't changed. Kling 4.0 is a model upgrade layered on top of it: the same subscription tiers now give access to a meaningfully more capable model (longer clips, higher resolution, more reference control, native stereo audio), with the fastest variant gated to the top Ultra tier first during the early-access period. We'll update the pricing page directly if per-generation credit costs for Kling 4.0 specifically turn out to differ from the existing tiers once it's fully rolled out.

How do I access Kling 4.0 right now?

The Flash variant is in early access for Kling Ultra subscribers as of September 28, 2026 — the highest of Kling's four subscription tiers (see our pricing comparison for what that costs). If you're on a lower tier, the full Kling 4.0 rollout through October 2026 is expected to widen access; check Kling's own app or site for the current state, since early-access gating tends to change quickly as a model stabilizes.
